This product contains an extract of Coleus forskohlii, a hydroxycitric acid extract naturally found in Gardenia Cambodia fruit.  Each of these ingredients has been shown to promote healthy fat utilization, especially when combined with a balanced diet and exercise program. L-Carnitine a non-essential amino acid, facilitates the transfer of fats into the mitochondrial membrane for use in cellular energy production.  To complete the formula, the product includes essential nutrients and green tea extract for metabolic support.*

May modestly reduce body weight; Scientific studies (multiple meta-analyses) show Green Tea Extract (Catechins) significantly decreased body weight by 2.9 pounds, and reduced waste circumference by 2.1 cm, over 8-12 weeks of use. The effect was less for people who are high consumers of caffeine (>300 mg per day)., especially after 8 weeks of use.*  Also, systematic review found that Coleus forskohlii, a relative of the mint family, has lipolytic effects and showed favorable changes in body composition by significantly decreasing body fat percentage (BF%) and fat mass (FM) if taken over 12 weeks.*

Other risks: Coleus forskohlii has been reported to lower blood pressure and should therefore be used with caution in hypotensive individuals and in individuals treated with antihypertensive medications, medications that predispose to orthostasis,, and vasodilators (nitrates, calcium channel blockers). Green tea extract should be avoided or used under the care of a physician for people with liver c conditions.  Although uncommon, liver problems have been reported in a number of people who took green tea products. Consult a health care provider and discontinue use immediately if you develop symptoms of liver trouble (such as abdominal pain, dark urine, or jaundice).  L-carnitine doses of approximately 3 g/day can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and a fishy body odor. It can also cause muscle weakness in people with uremia and seizures in those with seizure disorders. Consult with your physician before starting any supplement.
