B-complex Caps provide a full compliment of B-vitamins plus choline and inositol. These vitamins work to support energy production, maintain healthy homocysteine metabolism, and promote the health of the nervous system.* B-vitamins are water soluble, and with the exception of B-12, have limited storage in the body and thus require daily replenishment, especially during times of increased stress.* While B-12 is stored in the liver, dietary sources are of animal origin primarily (meat and dairy) and supplementation with B-12 may be especially important for vegetarians. B-vitamins generally do not cause harm, although excessive use (high doses) can cause some toxic effects described below..
Scientific studies (multiple meta-analyses) show B-1 reduces PMS mental symptoms up to 35%, and physical symptoms 21%. B-6 reduces PMS symptoms 47-69%.*

Vitamin B1 (thiamin) helps turn the food you eat into the energy you need, and is important for the growth, development, and function of the cells in your body. It improves glucose tolerance for diabetics, may help improve heart failure, and may have positive effects for people with dementia, but requires more study.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) is important for the growth, development, and function of the cells in your body. It also helps turn the food you eat into the energy you need. Some studies show that riboflavin supplements might help prevent migraine headaches, but more studies are needed. Riboflavin deficiency can impact people who are vegetarians/vegan, people who do not eat dairy foods.
Vitamin B3 (Niacin) helps turn the food you eat into the energy you need. Niacin is important for the development and function of the cells in your body. It can reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in people with atherosclerosis, can lower LDL levels, raise HDL and lower triglycerides. Niacin supplements can cause low blood pressure, extreme tiredness, high blood sugar levels, nausea/heartburn, and blurred vision. Long term excessive use can cause liver problems including hepatitis and liver failure, so consult with your doctor before starting any supplememnt.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is important for many functions in the body, especially making and breaking down fats. It may improve blood lipids but further study is needed. Pantothenic acid is safe, even at high doses.
Vitamin B6 - The body needs vitamin B6 for more than 100 enzyme reactions involved in metabolism. Vitamin B6 is also involved in brain development during pregnancy and infancy as well as immune function. There is some evidence that it may improve pre-menstrual syndrome. There can be a benefit for women who have nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Taking high amounts of vitamin B6 from supplements for a year or longer can cause severe nerve damage, painful skin patches, extreme sensitivity to sunlight, nausea, and heartburn.
Vitamin B7 (biotin) helps turn the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in the food you eat into the energy you need. It may improve the health of your hair, skin, and nails, but evidence is limited. Taking high doses of biotin may cause false results in some lab tests, including those that measure levels of certain hormones, like thyroid hormone.
Vitamin B9 (Folate) - Your body needs folate to make DNA and other genetic material. Your body also needs folate for your cells to divide. It reduces the risk of neural tube defects, may decrease the cancer risk especially colorectal cancers, improves treatment and symptoms of depression, may be related to lower risk of heart disease and stroke, and reduces the risk of autism spectrum disorders if taken during pregnancy.
Caution: For adults only. Consult physician if pregnant/nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition. Keep out of the reach of children.
